What You'll Do:

  • The Senior Director of Business Development will have a proven track record in building productive client relationships in the clinical research or health sciences industries
  • Develop and maintain new target accounts in the assigned territory
  • Cultivate prospective new clients to initiate new business relationships
  • Build out a robust commercial and business development strategy for their teritory
  • Monitor competitive intelligence by keeping up to date on market trends, competitors, new markets and opportunities
  • Represent CTI at industry conferences and trade shows
  • Maintain a sufficient pipeline of opportunities to ensure a close rate that achieves the individual annual sales goal
  • Work in collaboration with CTI’s proposal team to deliver budgets and proposals, including budget scope and proposal text review
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key members of CTI’s clinical operations and laboratory operational management
  • Lead internal CTI staff bid defense preparations and bid defenses with clients
  • Actively engage Exec management in all major business presentations, and discussions regarding a strategic account and/or any top opportunities
  • Lead the business development process from initial due diligence to early engagement meetings, to heading the RFP Process, to closing of opportunities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the customer relationship management system (Salesforce)
  • Answer client inquiries to identify areas of improvement and identify new business opportunities among existing customers
  • Provide overall support to new accounts to ensure clients receive highest level of service during their on-boarding phase
  • Attend regularly scheduled client meetings to monitor service, give direction and feedback on performance
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management and as necessary to meet business challenges

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or physical/life science
  • Extensive knowledge in sales methods and practices
  • Knowledgeable in the drug development process preferably gained within a CRO
  • At least 8 years in CRO, pharmaceutical, clinical or related fields
